Dr.
Russell J. Cecala was born and raised in Chicago and graduated from
Holy Cross High School. He attended Loyola University at Chicago where
he earned his bachelor’s degree. Dr. Cecala then earned his dental
degree from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry. Dr.
Cecala’s postgraduate education began with a one year General Dentistry
Residency in the U.S. Army at Reynolds Army Hospital Fort Sill, OK. He
served 11 years total in the U.S. Army including active duty during
Operation Desert Storm. He was stationed in Vicenza, Italy for three
years where he attended to the dental needs of U.S. airmen, soldiers,
and their families. Dr. Cecala returned to the states to continue his
training at the University of Iowa where he earned his masters degree
in Oral Biology and his specialty certificate in Periodontology. His
thesis research was in the area of complex bone grafting and
regeneration therapy. He is certified in several dental implant
systems. He presently lectures at the University of Illinois College of
Dentistry and has held the title of Assistant Clinical Professor in the
Department of Periodontics. Dr. Cecala is published in the professional
journals and continues to lecture and is a member of both the American
Academy of Periodontics and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
Dr. Cecala has lectured nationally for the W.L. Gore Company on the
subject of complex bone grafting. He has been with our practice since
1997. Dr. Cecala was president of the Illinois Society of Periodontists
2003-4 and is serving as president of the Chicago Dental Society
Northwest Side Branch.
Peter Haupers, Jr., D.D.S., M.S., M.B.A.
Dr. Peter Haupers, Jr. was born and raised in Chicago and graduated
from St. Patrick High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree from
Loyola University at Chicago. Dr. Haupers then attended Loyola
University Dental School for his dental degree and was elected class
president all four years. Dr. Haupers continued to study at Loyola
during his Periodontal Residency program which resulted in both a
Certificate in Periodontology as well as a Masters degree in Oral
Biology. Dr. Haupers has maintained a state of the art periodontal
practice which includes the most current technology including laser
surgery, I.V. sedation and dental implants. Dr. Haupers has held
numerous positions in various organized dental societies including
President of both the Northwest Side Branch of the Chicago Dental
Society and the Illinois Society of Periodontists. He also has chaired
the Live TV Committee for the Chicago Dental Society where procedures
are performed live and viewed at McCormick Place for thousands of
dentists attending continuing education. After almost 20 years in
practice, Dr. Haupers returned to school to obtain a second masters
degree in Management from Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern
University, distinguished with Beta Sigma Gamma honors.
