Employment

The Staff Members at PerioCare
A great staff is essential to provide a high level of dental care. And you can tell a good office by how long the staff sticks around. Several employees have been with us decades, with an average term of service over 10 years. We are very proud of providing a good work environment and we are proud of how well we work together to provide you with the best of Periodontal Care.
Our periodontal office is made up of office managers, receptionists, procedural assistants, hygienists, and doctors.

Receptionists

Annette has been with us since 1982. She has been educated in insurance handling, employee matters and computer skills that allow her to keep the office running smoothly. She is crosstrained in reception, sterilization and surgical assisting that helps minimize disruptions in the office flow when other employees are at seminars or are ill. Most of the tough insurance questions from patients are directed at Annette. And all other tough questions from the staff or doctors also are handled by Annette, making her invaluable to our office.

Grace has been with us since 1993 and handles scheduling, financial and insurance questions. You may hear her pleasant voice answer the phone when you call. She is also crosstrained in surgical assisting and sterilization. Growing up in the area in a family of many firemen with an outgoing personality, it amazes us how many patients Grace knows.

Surgical Assistants

Mayra began her dental career in 1996 as a receptionist. She became interested in dental assisting and found employment as a dental assistant. She supplemented her training with many continuing education classes. After assisting a part-time periodontist in the general dental practice, Mayra took a liking to periodontal procedures and began to look for a periodontal practice where she could shine. She joined PerioCare in 2000 where she has found her niche!

Hygienists,

Tish received her hygiene degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee. She has been with our practice since 1983 when she relocated to Chicago. She has been with us through 2 pregnancies and as her 2 boys grow, she may be able to give us more time. Tish has provided patients with a great service and has quite a following of patients who will only see her.

Helga graduated from William Rainey Harper College Dental Hygiene Program in 1982 and has been gaining experience as a hygienist ever since. Eleven of her hygiene years were in general dentistry and then she came to work for us. Helga and her husband, Joe, have two daughters, Vanessa and Natasha and she enjoys travelling, cooking, swimming, biking and horseback riding.

Chrissy graduated from the hygiene program at Lake Land College in 1994. She became interested in dentistry in high school when a part time job as a dental assistant was found to be enjoyable. She enjoys time with her family, traveling and shopping.

Carla has been in hygiene since graduating from Harper in 1991. She first became interested in dentistry while working as a chairside assistant for an endodontist, the infamous Dr. Kevin King. She has been with PerioCare since 1998. Carla has her hands full with 3 young children.
