Lasers are used in dentistry more and more. The example to the right is
a patient with a gummy smile. This is due to an overgrowth of gum which
can be from several reasons. The laser is used to remove the excess gum
and allow more of the natural tooth to be shown.
These procedures are performed in the office with local anesthetic and heal quite rapidly.
